Who is El The Designer?

 

Well, my name is Leon Williams. “El”, which was affectionately short for Leon has been the name used by many friends and artists. Somehow,  the name stuck with me and here we are: “El” The Designer.

 

Currently, I am a New York City-based graphic artist and creative director who focuses on telling my clients’ stories visually, through enjoyable and meaningful experiences. My own story into the world of art and creation can be told from a simple conversation with one of my mentors in 2007. At the time, I literally could not see the potential my mentor saw. To my benefit, however, the conversation began to illuminate vision and creativity. Fast forward to 2012, a turning point in my design career. It finally connected. This is when I found my passion for graphic design. I am living proof that great conversation can create life-changing moments. Being a visionary, my main focus is to grasp the mind of my audience, share inspiration, and for them to tell their own story through my pieces of work.

 

My design process consists of three main components; inspiration, creation, and innovation. However, these words do not exist in separate aspects of my design process. They are intertwined and go hand-in-hand. They create intersections to navigate the future through design. I believe the world we know today is the tangible result of conversation and creativity. Design is everywhere and for everyone. If you can think it or see it, it can be created.

 

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to establish relationships with amazing clients from all over the world, ranging from individual clients, non-profits, through up-and-coming startups, to multinational companies.

 

In my spare time, I enjoy doing life with my family, serving my community, and helping others share their wonderful stories with the world.
